Google is to put its robotics company Boston Dynamics up for sale, Bloomberg reports.
Boston Dynamics is the Google owned company behind the ‘terrifying’ humanoid robot video that was released in February.
The demonstration video (below) shows the robot’s incredible capabilities and includes a scene where the it takes a beating from a hockey stick and gets straight back up.
Social media users were quick to speculate that this may be the start of a ‘robot uprising’.

While the official reason for the sale is that Google feels the company is ‘unlikely to produce a marketable product’, those in the know believe that Google in fact wants to distance itself from the ‘Terminator’ style robot.
Of course, similarities between Google and Skynet have previously been speculated upon.
